Hi synapse321,

There is no need to supply any of your former partners details. If you are a single person now at home and receive Council Tax bills then you can phone the Council Tax Department ( or write to them or attend in person ) and get the Single Occupier Discount.

As far as posting to ESA and PIP, yes by all means send it recorded ( signed for ) and take a photo of the letter with your phone for your records.

Thank you David

In the letter do I word as such:

I have separated from my partner (insert date) and am now single living at this address.

Is it best to keep it simple and straightforward?

Kind regards

Hi

I informed the DWP over 10 days ago about the separation. ESA confirmed they received the letter over the phone.

To date I have not heard from PIP in writing. Should I be worried?

Hi synapse321,

Given the speed they do things in the DWP, I would wait another month and then make contact.

On The ESA Letter i received it says you need to report "anyone starts or stops living with you".

If i have moved in with my mum do I need to inform them of that too?

If so is it best to do it in writing again to PIP and ESA?

Thanks
