Does anyone know if the UC provisions are the same or similar to the current ESA(IR) provision with regard to 'Related Housing Costs (Service Charges)'?

The ESA regulations are

“Service Charges” as per Para 18(1)(a) of Schedule 6 to the ESA Regulations 2008

as opposed to “repairs and improvements” as described by paragraphs 2(c) and (6) of that Schedule.

Does anyone have any information about how the migration to UC would affect this current entitlement?

Hi George222,

Could you please be more specific. What Service Charges do you currently pay? You state in the heading ESA contributions based. Do you receive Housing Benefit? Do you pay rent to a Social Landlord? Do you receive any other Benefits and premiums?

Thanks for responding, yes, I've posted in the wrong place, it's not an ESA contributions based question, it's an ESA (Income Related) question.

The Service charges are for costs associated with a leasehold tenancy which are payable under the terms of the lease. These are currently covered by “Service Charges” as per Para 18(1)(a) of Schedule 6 to the ESA Regulations 2008
