Hi gazzmg, I think the answer is possibly. I can immediately think of several legal reasons why you would not be allowed to live in a jointly owned house. Since this forum deals with benefits queries and not property law I think it would be advisable to seek out a legal specialist dealing with property law who can give a full answer. If you are on means tested benefits owning property may affect benefit entitlement so if this applies to you, you may wish to seek specialist welfare benefits advice for this.
