Back dated payment was created by jackslad
Partner received a lump sum payment out of the blue and we were not sure what it was for. This was last Friday.
They had recently had a review interview.
Monday pip decision arrived and they had been upgraded to enhanced living needs from standard.
We had read that normally any back dated payment is made from when decision is made.
Just to confirm this payment was backdated a full year to when the review forms were sent in.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Congratulations on the improved award, well done.
If this was a review rather than a Change that you notified the DWP about then the DM usually chooses to use the date of the Decision to set the start of the new award but they do have the discretion to use another date if they believe that it is more relevant, they obviously felt that you met the higher criteria from when yo completed the forms.
The backdated money should be disregarded for 52 weeks and will then become capital.

Excellent news, always good to hear about both positive experiences and outcomes.
