I second what Chris is saying. A written statement of evidence or supporting letter can be from a friend, neighbour or relative.

Hi Mattymatt007

Supporting evidence is obviously helpful, but I've known people to be awarded PIP with very little. Go through the guides and answer the questions as thoroughly as you can. As suggested, get a supporting letter from a family member or friend. They may have observed things that you are even unaware of. The advantage of their letters is if they write something you're not happy with - you can ask them to change it!

Hi AA,

Apologies for the delay in replying - I'm inundated with appts atm. I'm on the waiting list with the Adult Neurodevelopmental Services - which is a long wait unfortunately. I've been on over 3 years and still think there's another 2 or so to go.

Regards, Chris.

I've only just seen your reply.

Do you not have a diagnosis of ADHD then, Chris?

In case it's useful for any reader, my Autism assessor a] spotted my also having ADHD which I hadn't realised I had,
and b] told me it's now considered 80% of people with Autism also have ADHD and 80% of people with ADHD also have Autism. So if you have one diagnosis especially if some time ago, and have any suspicions, it maybe worth chasing a second diagnosis. That said my award letter talks about
"acknowledging the difficulties my autism causes BUT..."
and goes on to base the award entirely on my physical difficulties. All very well for me, but continuing to dismiss adult female neurodiversity challenges which is very unfair on those who don't have bad enough physical stuff as well.
Best wishes,
Denby

Hi AA,

Not yet - I'm still awaiting my appt - but I know by myu own personality, and traits and programs that I've watched that I definitely have that, autism, or both.

Chris.
