Thought I’d post this about my experience as I had struggled to find any information when I was waiting. I submitted my review forms in April 2023 and received a text saying they still have my claim (!) every 3 months. This week I received a text saying my review was complete and I should get my letter in two weeks (also saying don’t phone as they won’t tell you the result). I don’t see the point in the text as it just sent my anxiety through the roof worrying about the outcome. I ignored it and phoned asking when my next review date was and this did the trick!! So ten months from start to finish but I didn’t have a face-to-face or telephone assessment. During the wait phoning was a waste of time as they just said it’s with an assessor who is dealing with claims in date order. My award ran out during the wait and they sent me a year extension. I live in Cornwall. I’m going to do a separate post about the decision. Hope this helps.

Hi littleroo
Thanks for taking the time to report on your experience. We used to be able to give people approximate times that it would take to get through the system, but it varies greatly and the time is generally far longer than what the DWP says.

My partner lives in Cornwall.
He submitted his pip renewal form in February 2022.
Whilst waiting he received the usual text messages stating his claim was still in the system.
In December 2023 the text giving him a twelve month extension due the backlogs of pip claims.
He eventually received a f2f appointment two weeks ago and on the same day he received a text message saying the hp report had been returned to the dwp and the usual 'do not ring'.
Two weeks later he received the decision letter keeping him on standard rate care and increasing his mobility from standard to high.
The paid him back pay for the time he had submitted the renewal form, so nearly £2,500
All in all apart from the two year wait for a descision it went smoothly and the assessment report was fair.
He will be reassessed again in two and a half years.
