Permitted work and clinical trial was created by PatGPT
Hi,

I want to take part in a clinical trial, it's over about a year and pays about £1900 in total. Would this be considered permitted work by the DWP?

I don't really want to take part in it, it's just there's a test available during the screening process that I need but the NHS won't give it to me until my blood test results are quite severe. I've had these symptoms for a year and they're destroying what little good health I did have.

The test costs about £400 and the trial will pay about £160, so it's appealing especially given I will likely be referred to a specialist on the NHS if the results are bad.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to take part in the trial in full but I am extremely concerned given I'm in the support group of ESA, claim PIP and for reasons which are hard to explain, need to move to UC quite soon.

I must apologise. I'm not trying to say that I don't want to take part in the whole trial. I do but I'm just worried about the effect it will have on my claim.

I admit that I really would like to have the test but and this is a major factor in me wanting to take part in it. You have the right to leave a clinical trial whenever you want, without having to give a reason.

In the eyes of the DWP, it probably won't matter whether I take part in the whole thing or not, as they will no doubt focus on my intention to take part, that this proves I can cope with work etc.
