Council tax reductions on pip was created by Karen
Hi I was wondering if anyone can clarify if it's right that you can get a reduction in council tax on standard rate care and mobility ? And how do you apply ?

CTR is specific to the Local Authority, go to their web page and there should be a link for this.

Hi my husband claimed universal credit back in may after a car accident . Went through all medical stuff and while we was waiting for a decision on what group he would be in . Citizens advice said for him to claim esa as he worked before accident so that’s what we did . Then universal credit came back he was in the non working group . Due to disability he now gets pip enhanced rate for both . But I’m now worried that we will lose the benefits of universal credit as won’t get free prescriptions and glasses etc . Will he be worse of as I believe new style esa is a means tested benefit. And universal credit is . I claim esa have done years and I get pip but only standard rate for both . Will we still get universal credit even on esa and and rent money ? So confused

Hi Karen,
As you already receive Universal Credit you won't be asked to take part in Managed Migration. The ESA you receive is New Style ESA which is contribution based and not means tested.
Have you tried using a Benefits calculator such as Entitledto.co.uk ?
Let me know how you get on.
