Hi l2,

Cogratulations on being placed into the SG at the reconsideration stage. :)

There is nothing to stop you applying for Care Component DLA, using our Guides.

However, please be aware that if you ask for a review of your existing DLA award, that the whole award will be looked at again.

Many members who apply for a review, in that they feel that their mobility limitations have increased, or they now have care needs, only fill in the appropriate section on the form, and simply put "No Change" in the other section, however they will still review your current DLA award, so there is some risk.

If you have any concerns that your existing award may be in danger on review, then you should seek professional face to face advice, where any such circumstance can be "risk assessed", see :

Being in the SG "SHOULD" help to show that you have severe limitations due to your health conditions.
