I passed the WCA and am in the Support Group!

It's amazing - I really thought the odds were against me. There were so many reasons why I wasn't expecting this. My illnesses (ME/CFS and depression) are hard to assess and my condition fluctuates. I have failed the WCA twice in the last few years and been found fit for work. I filled in my ESA50 before I subscribed to B&W and it wasn't very persuasive, with no supporting documentation. And I didn't have anyone to accompany me to the WCA. So the very best I was hoping for was the WRAG.

At the WCA I saw a doctor and she didn't ask me much and didn't give me a physical examination. She seemed to get nearly all the input for LIMA from the documents I took - letters from CFS specialists, my GP and my sister, who has power of atttorney. I also took the power of attorney registration and my care plan. The GP's letter said I am on suicide watch - that seemed to make the doctor quite sympathetic. Maybe I was just fortunate to get a diligent doctor who wasn't worried about her quota of support group claimants.

I claimed ESA last November so the backdated extra £46.40 pw for being in the support group is &1758. This could mean not having to leave my home area to find somewhere cheaper, which I have been dreading.

Thank you so much to all at B&W. Your guides have taught me so many things which I would never have worked out for myself. It's bizarre that we all need expert legal advice in order to get the benefits we are entitled to, but thank God you guys are here to provide it for such a reasonable price. You are doing an amazing job of protecting vulnerable people who would otherwise be at the mercy of ruthless politicians and the recession.

Congratulations Nick. I am just starting the migration process and agree with you that B & W website is brilliant. Feel much more confidant knowing all this "expertise" is available.

Well Done These threads can only being hope ans support other members of the Forum. with Welfare Rights and CAB all around the towns and cities are stretched to the limit and even breaking points. thank God there are people like Steve nd all his support Staff and the mods still offering advice to the most needy. I sure the ATOS police would love to shut this site down. remember folks get your family and friends to subscribe to Benifits and Work. together we can make a difference .
