Hi Katherine, that's brilliant news, hope you don't get reassessed any time soon!

Best wishes,
Rachel

Hi K,

I'm afraid that everyone that is awarded ESA, whether it be WRAG or SG will be re-assessed on an ongoing basis.

Claimants awarded SG status do tend to get longer awards.

The only way to be sure of the length of your SG award, is to request copy of your ESA85A, which will include your "prognosis" expected length of award before re-assessment.

To tell you it will either be 6 months or 12 months, would indicate that the person giving the information on the phone does not actually know.

It would be best to obtain it in writing on your ESA85A.

Claimants should be careful of only detailing their worst day, as ATOS will assess you on the basis of how you are for the majority of the time.

Of course, if you are at your worst, for the majority of the time, this is not an issue.
