I filled out the changover ESA form (with the help of your great website) on behalf of my autistic daughter. She has severe learning difficulties and has never worked.
Sunday afternoon I had a phone call from the Jobcenter Plus stating that my daughter had passed her medical which was odd as she didn't have one. When I questioned that with the lady on the phone she insisted that there was a medical because she had the details in front of her?? I was told she had passed and everything will continue as normal except now she will have to attend "work based interviews" or risk losing her benefits.
I find this illogical as she is quite unemployable and as she couldn't attend something like that on her own it will mean family members having to take time off work to take her.
Does anyone know what these interviews entail? I would rather not appeal and risk rocking the boat if they aren't going to be anything that will upset her.
It sounds like your daughter has been put into the Work Related Activity Group without a medical taking place, although an assessment based on her ESA50 and any evidence include, still did.
There is a guide to WFIs in the Members Only area, see here
Just to be clear, despite the name of the WRAG, your daughter cannot be required to seek work.
