Appeal- what to wear? was created by spinkles
I feel like I was penalised at medical because I was clean and apparently had well kempt hair, my hair is naturally curly and i left it to dry, it forms ringlets,i didn't wear any make-up. i hadn't made an effort but I didn't not either, was dressed casually, not sure what to do for appeal.any advice does it matter, I am usually prompted daily for personal care, hygiene, any advice thank you.

Hi,
You'll find guidance on what to wear for an appeal in the appeals guides in the members area.

Hi spinkles
There is advice in the appeal guide regarding what to where at a tribunal.
It's also worth bearing in mind that the LiMA software that ADAs use at an assessment only have three options, well kempt, unkempt and very unkempt. (I don't know how bald claimants can be assessed for this). They have to make an observation and enter it into the computer whereas the tribunal are not restricted to three options and do not even need to make an observation if they don't think it's relevant.
The PCA had a descriptor that questioned a claimants consideration for his/her appearance and living conditions but this is less relevant for the WCA.
Good luck
Derek

In my own experience it doesn't matter if you look clean and well groomed, or the opposite as they will still say "well kempt"!

We should all go on a dirty protest, and not wash at all before the face to face, then we can "smell " ATOS into submission.
Imagine an ATOS waiting room full of such "customers".
LOL !!!!
(No insult meant to any member who has problems with ablutions).
