Hi!
Quick question.
Going for ATOS medical on Monday.
I wondered what constitutes familiar surrounding with regard to the help required by another person and sight loss.
Is there a limitation of scope because for me for example;familiar means knowing how many kerbs to count before i deviate left or right or expect to find a crossing.
For a sighted person the scope of familiar extends for miles. When they see familiar landmarks or visit somewhere they have been before. Where does familiar end and unfamiliar begin.
Is there a written definition somewhere that i could use to argue with ATOS/HCP because of using my Guide Dog.

Hope this question isn't to obtuse but trying to think of something to help my case.
Thanks.

there is no mention in the a to z of dwp terms

www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-g...glossary-of-terms/#f

familiar is not really any use as the moment you go out you have no idea who has put bin bags out not closed drains working being carried out by gas electric water and these days cable companies traffic lights dont always work
