They can't blame the postal system!! was created by fedupn45
After failing my medical (I was told over the phone, when I have phoned over another matter), I did send a letter for a good old rant, as I felt entitled. I then on advise from this forum waited for the actual decision to be sent to me dated 30/6, which arrived 4/7. I replied and posted immediately (4/7) for a copy of my medical report and appeal form, which I still haven't received.

I am now told that because I haven't lodged an appeal my benefit will cease until they receive it, yet how can I appeal when I haven't got the dam**d report!! Which told today they posted out yesterday - we'll wait to see how long that arrives. Convinced they are using pigeons!!!!!

Meanwhile no benefit - got bills to pay, children to look after and definately not going begging for crisis loan. Having to go thro this is humiliating enough

Hi fedupn45

It's not necessary to wait for the report before lodging an appeal as you don't need to make a detailed submission initially, when sending the GL24 form.

You can download a GL24 form to print here (you only need the last four pages of the booklet).

The ESA appeal guide gives an example of what to write on the GL24 when you have very little information from the DWP, as in your case.

Good luck

Hi peterjclive

If you want to direct a member to one of your posts you need to click on the number (#61518) and copy the URL, then place the link in your post. Otherwise it's impossible to find.

Thanks for your advice I have already completed the Gl24 from the advice info on this forum, together with a seperate sheet of points, again guided by this forum. Can I submit further info then after finally receiving the Report.

The stress is getting to me now. My Mum who is acting on my behalf as I only came out of hospital last week after an op, phoned them yesterday, and they told her I would get my normal payment yesterday. I have just checked my bank account again and nothing has gone in. In fact I have £26 left before my tax credits go in on Sunday and that's maxing my overdraft, and yet I have a couple of bills to pay.(and no I am not going for a crisis loan,no matter what) I have never felt so poor and worried! :(

My Mum wrote to the MP on my behalf - what is going on here!!!

I had all this last year with an awful divorce and then took on the CSA, then ex-boss who was a con. Totally fedupn45 now!

Hi fedupn45

It's not necessary to give a detailed account of why you disagree with the decision when you send the GL24 form. The most important thing is to meet the one month deadline. You can make a further submission after receiving the medical report or after receiving the appeal papers from the DWP.

Payments of ESA are suspended until an appeal is received but should then be reinstated at assessment rate when it is received.

Make sure that you write on your GL24 letter that you wish to be paid at assessment rate while the appeal is decided, although this should take place automatically.

I hope your MP is helpful

Good luck

Derek
