Following my successful ESA claim and being placed in the support group, I decided to see if I could claim the care component of DLA. They took 12 weeks to make a decision and did not seek any supporting evidence from my GP or even my ESA medical. They agreed to continue my Higher mobility and refused the care. Despite the fact that I am unlikely to get any further treatment following failed back surgery they only approved that till next April. In the care bit they agreed I needed help dressing, bath and shower, and getting up etc they decided that I did not need help to use the toilet and the help was for less than 1 hour a day.....how am I supposed to get to the toilet besides getting up at night? They also said I could use pots and pans despite the fact I specifically said I could not lift full pans etc Now I have to decide if I ask them to review it and send the copy of my ESA medical....there again they will be sending my renewal soon.....might just wait for that
