Shocked to find out!!

One of my mum's friend had to go to a medical for ESA being transferred from IB. I was shocked to hear that I found out that at the centre they permanently have there lift CLOSED. This is so they can force you to use the stairs!! I also there is a button for a door that is about a metre lower than it should be, to force you bend down to open the door. Also CCTV watching you, in hope that if you do it. Almost a fail before your medical starts!!!

Various assessment centres have issues like this. Not all have disabled parking or adequate disabled access. If anyone here finds that they struggle painfully up the stairs with enormous effort and doesn't get points they are entitled to because of it, if they go to appeal, it's worth establishing that whilst they could do it the once, they couldn't keep doing it.

I physically couldn't get up the stairs, they would have to visit me at home or conduct the WCA in the corridor.

When I first went to a medical tribunal the lift had Out of Order on it. I asked the commissionaire if it wasnt working and he said he had been told to put the sign on by "them upstairs" (the tribuna). I went into the lift pressed the button and it took me up to the floor!

I believe you can complain to the tribunals service & writing to your MP wouldn't hurt. Its truly shocking.
