Forgive me if someone has asked this question before but how long are you likely to wait for a decision after you send off your completed ESA form (I am being migrated from IS)? If you are made an award without a medical, would you receive a letter telling you this fairly quickly or is it a phone call?

I think waiting for a response after you send off the ESA must be just about the worst part of the whole thing!

Hi Shirley

The question has been asked many times before and there is no standard answer.

Sometimes they will contact you within a week to give you a date for a face-to-face assessment. Sometimes they might write to your doctor for more information and depending on the workload it can take weeks for a decision to assess you or award you ESA.

Derek
