No letter from DWP regarding medical assessment was created by HunnyBun
Hi,
After filling in my ESA medical form I was asked to attend a medical which was then cancelled the week before because my form was finally read by a Medical decision maker.. thank you Benefitsandwork!! The medical cancellation letter stated DWP would write to me regarding the decision... that was over 3 weeks ago, still no letter despite numerous requests from my support worker.
Also my ESA has been reduced by £20 per week with no explanation or notification. When I changed over from IS to ESA I was told my income would stay the same which it did for 3 months. I have contacted DWP four times to ask why my ESA has been reduced, yesterday I was told it is because DWP are awaiting the medical decision BUT the £20 a week I have lost will not be backdated regardless.
Without anything in writing I can't request or question anything!
Any help or advise please.

Hi HunnyBun,
In your position I would write to my MPs constituency office today asking them to investigate what appears to be an unlawful reduction of your benefit as a matter of urgency.
I would send it first class and also email or fax a copy if you can and I would follow that up with a phone call to the constituency office within two days. After all, it's MPs of all parties who introduced this system of assessment and who are also cutting the DWP,s budget
I would also send a copy, recorded delivery if possible, to the customer services manager at the office dealing with your claim, so that they know you have asked your MP to get involved.
Good luck,
Steve
