hi,
i was put in the wrag group first with no medical, i sent in appeal. meanwhile meant to attend pathways, spoke to lady on the phone, she said no and deferred it for a few months. 3 months later received a backpayment from dwp. i rang to find out why and they said i,d been put in the support group so owed me this.they said they would also cancel my appeal and pathways. i asked them to send me a letter confirming this they said ok. my payments changed to support group entitlement. but i have never received a leter from them not a breakdown of my new payments, infact nothing to support this. i have rung them so many times you wouldnt believe it. each time they say they will send me something but never received anything in writing. without proof i,m always worried they may contest this if there's ever a problem. what should i do pls. also does the dwp need to know i,ve been placed in the support group or will they already know.
thankyou for your invaluable help.

I think you need to ring them again, explain you have requested written confirmation of your Support Group status several times and ask to speak to a supervisor.

Let us know how you get on.

Or alternatively the Customer Services Manager.

Hi, Ploppy

If they have begun paying you at the Support Group rate, that's got to be a good sign!!! But you're absolutely right to get it in writing, of course.

I'm puzzled you're not getting any paperwork through - I seem to get another brown envelope from DWP whenever someone sneezes. Are you sure they have your current address correctly??? Check when you phone.

Good luck. Have a good weekend and let us know how you get on on Monday.
Andy.
