Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

A domiciliary (home) medical assessment which forms part of the work capability assessment for ESA, will be the same if you attended a medical examination centre. The only difference will be that the approved disability analyst may write down the answers to questions, as opposed to using the standard computer programme known as LiMA. However, the medical assessment report will be recorded on an ESA85 or an electronic ESA85 which will be similar in all respects.
The questions you are likely to be asked for the purposes of the medical assessment are recorded on pages 66/67 of the guide entitled "Employment & Support Allowance claims on Physical Health Grounds" or pages 70/71 of the "Employment & Support Allowance claims on Mental Health Grounds" both of which can be found in the ESA resources.

My husband had a medicial at home, the doctor who came was here for about 90 mins he throughly examined him, asked about the problems with his knees, he was very nice and seem to understand his problems, however he was turned down for Dla, his report was different to what we said to him, he appealed and won,the doctor who came also said that he was only in abit of pain which was wrong, when he appealed he said that if he was only in a bit of pain with his knee's how come they where going to replace both knee's totally as he had got arthritis in both which was done eventually, however 1 of the knee replacements has gone wrong,he has had his knee cap now replaced to try to solve the problem. my advice is it does not matter how nice and understanding the doctor seems to be, it all depends on what he puts in his report,if it does not go your way appeal as we did and won.

No one should ever be taken in by the manner of the doctor or nurse. Putting people at their ease is something they are encouraged to do by their training, but this is not the same as producing a report sympathetic to the

hi, I had home med 18months ago for dla and if it hadnt happened to me i wouldn't have believed it. I coulnt hear or understand questions fired at me in no logical order. He has since denied that i was extremely distressed throughout and that he left me after 40 mins distraught and crying. Many things he wrote are just not true so i have no faith in his medical opinions. I would advise anyone to have a witness with them as atos say its his word v mine. I am still waiting tribunal.
