ESA appeal postponed 8 months after ATOS medical

I had my ESA medical in November and scored 6 points.
My appeal was meant to be 9 June 2011 but the judge postponed it.
I gave them my consultants reports, psychiatrist reports,GP report and letters & an independent medical assessment from a different GP practice saying unfit for work.
Why postpone after so long and how can they still say fit for work with all the information I have given?

Stuck what to do now I had to pay for most of the letters. So anxious I might just give up.

Hold your horses, Honey Bee.

A postponement does NOT say anything about your chances of winning your appeal. It certainly does NOT mean they are saying you are fit for work. It could be for many different reasons - for example if a judge was off sick and the workload had to be rearranged. Did they give any indication why it's been postponed? Have you got a new date?

Remember that the Appeal Tribunal is completely separate from DWP. It's their job to look at all the evidence you sent in, and to talk to you on the day of the hearing and THEN make a decision.

I know the waiting can be stressful, and it's maddening to be postponed at the last minute. But keep your spirits up as best you can! (And please let us know what happens.)

Best wishes,
Andy.

Honeybee

Ring the Tribunal Service and ask for an update as to when your hearing will be convened.

As others have said, and adjuornment before the hearing has actually happened means nothing with respect to your case, so you shouldn't worry about it.
