I totally agree with the comments of keeping your Gp up to speed. And percure any evidece you can aquire from any possible source to petition your case. However many of us don't now have a good relationship with our GP'S. for one reason or another!
My recommondation is to send COPIES of all your evidence to the DM and the ATOS Doctor/Medic.
There is a school of thought that says the whole idea of the new system and ATOS is to Bypass your own GP'S opinion.
And some people even say keep some evidence back for a possible appeal. I don't agree with this. On saying that their is also no Guarentee that any evidence sent in, will actually be looked at.
I think for all those people who will be migrating from IB to ESA making sure your GP has all the information about your difficulties is vital, as GP's are often sent out the ESA113 from which is a relatively brief report, and asks about many of the areas covered by the ESA descriptors (Walking, rising from a chair, picking up objects, communication, ability to look after personal hygiene etc. There are few pyschological and cognitive examples given)
I would urge everyone to really take time to dicuss things with thier GP as fully as possible. Another posting on here suggested making a written account of the problems faced and asking the GP to have this on file. That way if you move to another GP that vital information goes with your records.
