Unusual DLA Medical ??

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of being sent to an Examination Centre for their DLA medical?

Isnt it the 'norm' to have your DLA medical in your own home?

Is this a new routine or has this been happening for a while?

I wondered because of the difficulty travelling to get there will cause so has anyone else had the experience of being told they must travel for an hour for their DLA medical?

Hi Bill,

Being called to an examination centre for a medical has been happening for a while now.

However, as far as I know you can still insist on having a home visit for a DLA medical. If this is what you would prefer try doing so and let us know what response you get.

Thanks for your reply. To be honest I dont feel too confident about insisting on a home visit simply because I can struggle to get there so I wonder if thats what I should do?

At least when I do get to the Centre my condition will not be any better so I think I will struggle and go.

As I havent had anyone else commenting here on their experience of going to an Examination Centre for their DLA medical I guess it must be quite unusual?
