Excuse my stupidity (theres quite a bit of it!)can you still receive your War Pension and work? (One for Pete obviously) Thanks.
yes of course you can, if the reason means you will not be able to earn as much as before you got hurt then you also get another allowance called lower standared to make up the differance or as in my case and others you cant do any job you get un emply supplement and if you have had the pension years you still get your IB too recent changes means you cant get IB or ESA as well and I might lose my IB/ESA when the move is carried out

Thanks for that Dave, a few questions if I may? When is lower standard awarded? (at what percentage?) also unemployability supplement? (again at what percentage is it awarded?) (receive esa, dla (HRC+LRM)) The RBL have advised that I try for WP MOB SUP as my service injury is so severe. I have been offered work, albeit limited and given the present climate am considering getting off benefits and trying to help myself as I fear I may be for the chop if you catch my drift (being typed by a friend). So if I went back to work I could still receive my WP and WP MOB SUP ? anything else? (lower standard?) Sorry to sound so mercenary but its all about survival at the moment. Thanks you. (note went back on ESA in June 2010 after being taken off in June 2008- long story)
pete knows better than me my info comes from going through the system, I applied for lower standard of employ as I wanted to work they said that they would give me un employ as they said there medical advice was i should not work, each case is looked at on the evidance with regards mobility i did not try for war pensions mob as that at the time could only be awarded for 5 years and dla said that they would give it for life/indef
lower standard and unemploy can no longer (i think be awarded with esa) or ib (they could in the past) you need to get the legion to sit down with you and crunch the numbers
i might go for war pensions mobility soon as the higher rate mobility might not be re awarded when it becomes PIP I also get middle rate care
with regards percentage for unemploy and lower standard its 60% which is what i get I now claim for wife as thats better than carers allowance as its tax free and she is going back to uni to do a masters soon and never found out what education you can do on carers allowance

Dave, how do you think you will lose your ESA/IB? I am in the same position as you, UMSUP and ICB contribution paid.

I only get the serps part of my IB and when I asked my MP he got someone from DWP to call me a senior manager at present I am exempt medicals but might need one on transfer, the rules state NO one will lose money if they move and are allowed to carry on getting the new benefit in this case ESA so if I pass the regs for ESA and I expect to go stright to support then I should get an amount thats the same as i get now
