HI all,
I claimed esa last may , had the medical and was put straight onto contribution based wrag, (partner worked to many hours to go on income based, even though only brings home £250 per week)
about a month later i applied for dla , this was turned down using my esa medical. went to tribunal and won low rate care.
at tribunal judge told me to immediately send in change of circumstances as he could see i was alot worse than original claim.
i then had a medical at home last saturday for the DLA . my rhumy had also filled in the form with supportive information (he didnt the first time round)
i am still waiting for the outcome of that.
Today i had a call requesting me to go to a medical for esa as its time for renewel !
Now i have never been asked to go for a work related interview
how come they dont use the dla medical like the dla did last year?
I had a really rude young man on the phone , he told me i had to be there at 9 am on the 13th ! i immediately without hesitation said i couldnt go that day as my dad was going in to hospital to have a cancer removed and it would be him /my to bring me ! he said he cant help that and my dad having an operation didnt stop me from going ,(i booked it and am hoping i can get a freind to take me) as cant go on public transport !
Is this all the norm?
and also how long after a medical do DLA normally take to make a decision ect?

sorry but I have to say this, reading through yours and so many others this afternoon highlights tremendously the bullying going on, just remember what goes round comes round. This is a very worrying time for you and you really dont need their awful rude and intimidating manner. Best of luck to you.

Thankyou,
The thing that got me most was when i said , "ok book it i will see if a friend can take me, but could i poss have later in the day as she will have a scholl run" he replied " oh yes that would be a problem , well there is another appointment free on the 21st"
So how come that appointment wasnt there a few moments ago when i said about my dad !! it wasnt like i had time to think up a story , i was stood in the kitchen by the calendar and the call was not expected !!

This should all be passed along to your MP and your local paper.
