appointment for ESA medical was created by peterth125
Really annoyed as just had phone call to make an appointment for my 3rd ESA medical in 2 years. What has annoyed me is the fact that on my ESA 50 form i filled in dates i am unavailable as going on holiday and guess what date they offered me.Yes thats right slap in the middle of my holiday. Also when they rang they suddenly said "oh i haven t got your name so will have to ring you back"
All just goes to show how incompetent thay are !!!!Does anyone actually read form ESA50?
Will turning up for a medical with a sun tan go against me and are you even allowed to go on holiday whilst on ESA(CB)
Thank you
Peter

No, especially with the impending arrival of hot and sunny weather in the next few days, but according to Atos you may 'look very well' with a sun tan! Will turning up for a medical with a sun tan go against me
Yes, but you are obliged to tell them when and where you are going in advance of the holiday. Are you even allowed to go on holiday whilst on ESA(CB)?

Funny I thought the exact same thing back in April when I had been out in the sun! However this was after my medical but I was still worried I might be tanned for my tribunal. No doubt in the 'medical' report it will mention your healthy glow but they can't deduct points for this.

I had exactly the same yesterday, I was asked where I was going and if I could go to a centre there!! I had originally been booked for an appointment the day before I was due to go away, this was cancelled as the doctor couldn't make it, the new date was in the middle of my holiday. I was advised they would need to send my file back to the DWP and when I return I have to call them and ask for my file to be sent back to ATOS. Today I received a letter advising me that they have received further information and I do not have to attend an appointment-now that has confused me!! I am going on holiday and will wait and see what happens on my return.

CD, do you have to informing them of your whereabouts if you're going into respite care in this country while your carers take a break?

The official wording for both IB and ESA purposes is "you should not go away from your home address without leaving word where you may be found."
The reason for this instruction is so that you can be contacted at short notice to undergo the WCA, which may involve a medical assessment. Therefore if you are going into respite care, you are duty bound to inform the DWP of your whereabouts, as this is a material change of circumstances.
