Health Care visitor

I have just received a letter telling me that there will be a visitor to my house in regards of my DLA claim.A health care professional will come and assess me.I am very nervous and do not Know what to do or what to expect.Is there any advice you could give me on this matter.I have not received as yet the date this person will come.

Hi there Peter, is this a new claim you are making or a renewal may I ask?

I had a home vist from a Health Care Proffessional(HCP) as part of my initial DLA claim.

The important thing is to have someone with you so that they can make notes and perhaps help you make sure you don't forget any of the problems you have on a day to day basis.

Keeping a diary for a week may help to jog your memory but keep this for your personal use, rather than hand it over to the HCP.

My assessment lasted 45 minutes and there was a small physical examination in terms of joint mobility.

I just took my time and gave as much information as possible and the outcome was all ok.
