Points at ESA Medical was created by injuredcyclist
Hi,

I'm a new member and I have limite ability to read and type but I can't see any thing on this.

I scored 21 points on my medical although there are many things ignored by the aTos Dr. WHat do you need to score to gain entry to the Support group?

Thanks in advance.

Look at the ESA WCA scoresheet (Go to Help for Claimants, then ESA) and open in pdf, then look at P9, which talks about limited capacity for work related activity.

For the support group, it's not a number of points, it's yes or no to the descriptors in the list I've referred to.

After I attended my ESA medical I requested a copy of the report and was shocked by the information put in my the ATOS doctor such as I can walk 30m (I'm in a wheelchair and can walk only a few steps); even more so because I was not asked about how far I could walk. It pays to obtain a copy of the report and check it carefully. I completed an appeal form and have just received a response and I have been moved into the support group. It is well worth the time it takes, don't be intimidated by a professional who thinks they can write whatever they like about you.

Can one ask for a copy of his report before the medical so that he knows you want one? If so can you have a copy before leaving the office?
I know that recording isn't allowed but can the person accompanying you take comprehensive notes in a minuted format with times, questions and responses?

Would an undeclared recording be admissible in an appeal it transcribed and presented. ?

I don't think you can request an ESA medical report until a decison has been made.

It is perfectly acceptable for a companion to take notes at whatever level of detail they are able to.

There is no precendent for a covert recording being accepted as evidence in a benefit tribunal, although there is in an employment one.
