Hi all i have been a lurker on this fab site but joined a few weeks ago as i am sick with worry about this DLA80 form and letter stating they have info concerning my entitlement to DLA, i know many people have got these letters and i was wondering what the outcome has been.
I have read quite a few people have had this letter and also have read if they suspected you of fraud they would stop your DLA and call you in, which has not been the case with me.

I phoned them up and have been told 2 diff things, one was that it is not necessarily someone has made a malicious call about you as they get all info from different agency's, and today the lady said on the DLA helpline she said there was nothing about fraud on my notes but she thinks it is one of the random checks the DWP make but if that is the case why do they send the letters that worry us and make us feel so sick.
Could it be 'Correctness Programme' initiative,if so why send letters about info received.

I have asked them for extra time, they gave me 2 weeks and now have asked for another week as i have not been able to get all the info to back up my claim. My worry is if they ask for a medical how on earth can the doc see how much pain i am in constantly, and how fair are these medicals as never had one before.

Could this be a standard letter they send as as claimiant has been picked randomly or is it def as they have got a malicious calls giving false info.
Sorry if i am rambling away but i am sick with worry.

I am on fentanyl 75mg patches and it does not take all the pain away and having a app with the pain clinic on monday hence wanting to wait till i have had results from my spinal mri and what the consultant says so i can add it in my application.

Thanks and take care

It should be a letter relating to a suspicion of fraud, but I came across a welfare rights adviser on another site who claimed that he'd been told by someone at the DWP that they were using the same forms for random checks. Maybe someone else here knows whether they really do.

However, whether someone has alleged fraud, or whether they are carrying out a random check, I'd say don't panic. If you have a medical it may not go your way, but if it doesn't, it's worth appealing if you're entitled to DLA.

But one step at a time - get that report in as soon as you can.

I am in the same position.

I received a letter and DLA80 last Nov. I asked for extra time, a lovely young man told me not to worry and get it back as soon as I could. It was returned by the end of Dec. I had a home medical 4 wks ago. I am still awaiting the result.

I have been on DLA since 2003, and in 2008 I was awarded HRM and HRC indefinitely.

I am coming round to the idea that it is a 'random' check for over 60s - those of us who are would not be changed over to PIP when the time comes. Things could change though!

I have just had an assessment with my local social services and the panel have agreed to give me 14 hrs a week, i will be sending in the care plan i am hoping that will stand good when i send my form back in, do u know if a care paln makes any difference to their decision.
Do u by any chance remember what site u read this about it being a standard letter.

:( I had one of these letters in January and it worried me sick too. They have decided that I have a medical. I need to change the medical date as they only give me 6 days notice. I have a hospital appointment on the 29 March to find out if I have Hypermobility Syndrome/Ehlter-Danlos Syndrome. I go to the local support group in Bristol.

How do I get them to do the medical at centre and not my home as I dont want strangers in my home and also means that I have sort out who will have the dog whilst they are here as he is a pain in the arse when people are here because he will bark until he is let in or out of his cage. I am also waiting for a Community Care Assessment which my housing association has requested as they feel that I need support in the home.

There should be a contact number on the letter they have sent you, give them a call and explain the situation.
