ESA renewal good news was created by MammaT
Hello all
I've been thoroughly stressed since January when the ATOS envelope arrived with another esa form to complete.
It took me weeks to do - and I typed it out so I did wonder if they would accept it. I sent it the day before the deadline (special delivery) 2 weeks ago as it really does take me ages to face up to doing.
I've today received a brown envelope informing me of my rates of pay for WRAG esa and the April increase etc.
There's no mention of another medical so I'm taking from this that I've been 'approved' on my form alone.
I know they must be snowed under at the moment so that may well have something to do with it but I still think that it's also down to the great guides here that I used again.
I'm being positive and seeing it as a small glimmer of hope that sometimes things do work as they were intended...

Hi Mamma T,
You may well be right. But do bear in mind that this may be a standard letter being sent out to all ESA WRAG claimants, regardless of whether they are due to be reassesed or not.

Yes Steve, I did think it might just be the standard letter re the April rates but it does say they've looked at my claim again and it gives the date from 18th Feb (although my form didn't have to be back until 23rd Feb).
Well, I take your point and I'll keep my fingers crossed and wait and see.

Have just given the date 18th Feb some more thought and it means that there is no gap in payments for me. The letter also says:
"This is because of a decision on your capability for work. You have been placed in the Work Related Activity Group."
These things are never totally clear cut - we'll see.
