Replied by kriss on topic Copied letter from ATOS re Med Asessment
Dear Ms *******

Thank you for your email dated 01/03/2001. I note that you dispute the recorded obervations from your Incapacity Benefit medial assessment, and consequently feel that your assessment was not carried out fairly and impartially.
I must re-iterate the comments of my collegue XXXX from his correspondance of the 28/02/2011, which explains the the examining healthcare profesional (HCP)is required to fulfilthe role of a 'Disability Analyst' in basing their assessment on documentary evidence, and during the interview with the customer and a recording of their observations of the customer during this time.
The observations recorded by the HCP are meant as a way of upporting the medial advice they are supplying to the Department for Work and Pensions and are not taken in isolation by the Decission Maker, wh is the intended audience of the medical report and has been fully trained in interpreting its content as a whole. No part of the report should be scrutinised in isolation.
I appreciate your interpretation that the recorded observation' put foot on chair to replace shoes' means that you would have to have been wearing footwear that required adjustments (such as laces or buckles) but please be assured that this is not what is meant by this statement.
I am sorry that you feel that your assessment was not conducted fairly and impartially. but I am sure that you can appriciate that, as a third party not present at the time of your assessment and in the absence of an independant witness, I cannot confirm this was the case.
Nonetheless, I apologise for any upset caused as a result of your assessment, please be assured that a copy of your complaint will be retained for our records.
I appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and allowing us the oppertunity to investigate. I hope that any future dealings you may have with Atos Healthcare will not give you cause for concern.

Oh dear, what a pile of gobbledegook, this is something we ALL have to look forward to.

One thing that did jump out of that load of tripe, is that you didn't have a independent witness.
Tape machine and witness's seems to be the only way to greet these thugs. :woohoo:

My friend drove me to the Assessment and had every intention of being my witness (would not be classed by Atos & DWP as independant as I know him) but as he couldn't park outside the Assessment Centre he had to drive around to find a space, too late to be my witness, but I don't think it makes any difference if someone is taking notes on your behalf Atos & DWP have their own adgenda re people claiming ANY sort of Benefit, so here I go again with the waiting for my Appeal date which will not be heard before 30/6/11
