Old Commissioner Decisions was created by H2o
Are old Commisioner Decisions records still kept anywhere as I had a succesful appeal for IB a few years ago after having to write to the Commisioners, but now cant find their letter.
I'm just wondering where I should write to to request a copy, and how far they would go back.
thanks

Thanks Survivor,
I have searched that site, but it wasn't a starred decision, it was just my own appeal letter.
There was an older site which was much easier to navigate and search through, but I think that was only for starred decisions as well.
I'm just wondering if records of all the Commissioner decisions are held anywhere that I could write to.

Hi H2O
When a Commissioner makes a ruling, only the ruling is kept. The appeal papers that will include your letter of appeal is usually destroyed one year after the ruling or last time it needed to be referenced.
If you can remember the name of the Commissioner and approximate date of the decision, you may be able to search for it here . Alternatively you could write to the Upper Tribunal (which replaced Social Security Commissioners) and give details of your appeal. They may be able to provide you with a copy.
Regards
Derek

I've managed to get hold of the reference number, but it goes back to 2000. Can I get a copy through the Data Protection Act, or can the Tribunals Service just send me a copy from that long ago? Would they still hold onto decisions from that far back?

I contacted the Upper Tribunal about this but they said they would only have records going back 18 months. Its a pity as this Appeal was about activities having to be carried out repeatedly and not just a snapshot or single occurrence.
