Hi All
Wonder if anyone can help. I telephoned Jobcentreplus to report a drop in my savings since I first applied for ESA. I have now received form ESA3 10/10 to fill in. On page 2 it states:
"your savings will not affect your contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance"
The form is huge and I do not want to waste hours filling it in if it is not necessary. Can I just ignore, it as a drop in savings is what i wanted to tell them? Help please - thank you.

I can't find an online copy of the form just yet, but DirectGov states:
It is important to contact the Jobcentre Plus office dealing with your claim if your circumstances change. You can do this by telephone - the number will be on letters they have sent to you. For example if:
* you do any work, including voluntary work
* you start training and get a training allowance
* you change your address
* you have been in hospital for 52 weeks and part of your benefit is paid for someone else
* you go abroad
www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/Fina...upport/esa/DG_172014
They do not mention savings and to my knowledge it will only be relevant to income based ESA.
Moderators will know more as to whether or not it can be ignored or whether you should call again and say it was ordered in error...

Thank you bitplayer.
I did phone the jobcentre in the first place and they said they could not do anything over the phone and they would get this form sent to me. It came from Belfast, not from them.
I am on ESA (income-related)and all I wanted to do was tell them my savings had dropped, because as I understand it the rules are that you have to tell them of any change. As I said in my question, on page 2 of the form it says your savings are not relevant so it seems a waste of time. Any help please on this? Thank you.
