tribunal hearing was created by matthewcrew
I have just recieved a date for my tribunal hearing 15/03/2011 when in the original letter i had from them it said that my hearing wouldn't be heard before 11/05/2011, i'm still waiting for and collecting evidence and so I am thinking of asking for a postponement, do you think that this is a good idea and can it cause any damage to my chance of winning my case, also does anyone know the tribunals service email address or would it be better to write them a letter.

Hi Chew
You can ask for a postponement if you wish. It's best to do it in writing and explain the reasons for the request. It should not have any affect on your chances of succeeding.
Good luck
Derek

Hi Chew
It's at the discretion of the Tribunal Judge as to whether you get a postponement; I wouldn't like to second guess his or her decision.
I can only say that more time to obtain evidence strikes me as a reasonable request when the delay is not your fault, and it could be a breach of natural justice if you don't have a fair chance to put forward evidence, so hopefully you will be given more time.
Good luck
Derek
