I actually had a glance through TTs document before the link was removed and my gut feeling was that it was much too upbeat. For example, I wouldn’t volunteer any information about trying to start a business from home in the future – that’s just opening doors to being turned down or put into WRAG. Having now gone through all the B&W guidelines on how to complete an ESA and why, it is obvious that you must tailor your answers to hit the descriptors and leave it at that. Offer only as much detail as is absolutely necessary in support of each statement, but nothing more.

I thought I’d done quite a good job with my ESA50s till I read these guides and realised that I had actually missed the point of what they were trying to find out about me, particularly on all the metal functions. Sadly, it wasn’t till I was moved from SG to WRAG that I started researching anything about ESA, hence why I’m here now! If I had know then what I know now, I am sure I wouldn’t be facing the ordeal of appeal now. If only….. !!!!

I hope my comments are helpful TT and my sympathies for your problems. I too have FM amongst other things and it is mind numbingly painful. My heartfelt thanks to the B&W team for putting together such useful guides.

I too read some of TT's form and I found it both upbeat and including humor.

I'm not sure how it would go down with DWP?!

Best wishes,
Rachel

Like RatRoom & Rachel I too skimmed through TT's form before the link was removed & share their views. Atos & DWP aren't known for having a sense of humour & would probably use it & the upbeat information to indicate that TT isn't so incapacitated as to qualify for ESA.
Best advice I can give TT is that it's a good start but you would benefit from using the guides here. As many B&W members have posted, Atos & DWP will use anything they can to discredit a legitimate claim for ESA, DLA etc & the one thing we all have to avoid doing is 'putting on a brave face' in any way, shape or form. It is depressing that we have to concentrate on what we can't do to justify our claim but sadly that's the way it has to be.
Good luck TT
