When a claimant wins their ESA appeal, is the award of the work-related component backdated to the date of the medical assessment or the date of the original application?
If it's a first claim for ESA and you were in the assessment phrase at the time of the decision, it should be backdated to the beginning of the 14 week of the claim regardless of the decision date.
If an ESA award is superseded following a reassessment, it should be backdated to the date of the decision.
