With my ongoing condition I have been referred to a Mental Health Team who have now placed me in a high risk of suicide or self harm group.
They have also indicated that supervision would be a good idea due to my condition.
Is this something that the DLA should consider awarding a Care component for and will I need to make sure I have a strong letter from the Mental Health People in order to make claiming easier?
This is not a nice situation to be in but it is becoming more obvious now that my condition is even more serious than first thought and I need to take steps to protect myself as much as I can.
My advice would be to get letters of support from your mental health team, and when you've received them you should send them to the DLA Unit in Blackpool and ask them to review your claim with a view to being awarded care component also.
However, you need to be aware that asking for a review could result in your DLA LRM being looked at again.
