I was awarded LRM & MRC on appeal in December 2010 and been receiving Contributions based ESA since November 2008 and put in the work related group. Does anybody know how the DLA award will effect my ESA benefit?
If you are eligible for means-tested benefits, you will receive extra money (severe disability premium) provided that there is no-one in your household (which wouldn't include, for example, a lodger) who is 18 or over and not on DLA themselves, and provided that no one is claiming Carer's allowance for looking after you.
The rules on eligibility for means-tested benefits are complex and beyond the remit of what we advise on here.
In theory it should have no effect on your ESA award, and the fact that your DLA appeal was successful in December 2010, may even be a positive indicator that your ESA award is merited and entirely correct.
