wonder if anybody can help .
i`ve been going through a esa/wca test and have been told by welfare rights to seek a doctors report from my gp
i phoned for this but was told that they do reports from the dwp that ask specific questions
but don`t do patient asked for reports
i was told at my esa /wca when i suggested contacting my gp practice for report was told they don`t do that anymore
anybody tell me what to do re doctors support or report as it feels like i`ve hit a brick wall with this
many thks

Hi,
Sorry to hear of the problem with your GP and reports. Woould it be possbile to contact either the Senior Partner in the Practice or the Practice Manager and explain the situation. Quite often GP's will do a report but it is very often at a cost to the claimant. It could be worth offering to pay for it.
Failing that, is there a more sympathetic GP in the practice who may help, or even ask friends, neighbours if their GP is sympathetic to writing reports and try to change GP's to them?.
Alternatively, although not ideal, you could request a copy of your medical records under the Data Protection Act and go through them to see if there are any 'helpful' reports from such as consultants etc which you may be able to use.
Pete

think it was the practice manager that i spoke to seemed very negative to me getting a report even though i offered to pay
reasons were that the report could make things worse
i get the feeling that this doctor is unwilling to write one period
he replaced my old gp after he retired and i`ve only met him 3 times and i`ve spoke about dwp changes but seemed un interested
think i might have to switch practice`s
i feel i`m getting little no support from this new gp
there`s practice zoning going on in aberdeen be nice to be closer to doctor anyway .
