ESA Work Related Interviews was created by Bob
Hi I have just been placed on Work Related
ESA and have been informed that I will have to have a total of 6 Interviews.
I had an ATOS Medical a month ago and in
the Medical report the Dr Stated that I MIGHT be fit enough to be considered well
enough to return to Work!! In SIX MONTHS.
Does anybody know what happens after these
6 Interviews, and will I be placed back onto JSA ? Or will I have to have another Long Form to fill in and another Medical??
Im getting very fed up with being treated in this way, I have worked ALL my life and only recently fell ill at the age of 59 and
was treated like an animal by ATOS

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Robert
THe six WFIs are mandatory, you can read about their content and your obligations in the "Knowing your rights at Pathways to Work Interviews" which is in the Work section of the Members area.
The doctors statement is just an opinion, it can have an influence on when you might be re-assessed, but is not the only factor.
After you complete your six WFIs you will remain on ESA. You cannot be "transferred" to another benefit such as JSA without undergoing and failing another WCA medical
Hope this helps

Hi Gordon, despite reading lots of articles on this website, along with numerous posts, I was under the impression that you had to go on to JSA after a year on ESA!!
Many thanks for teaching me even more!!
Not that I relish ever having another ATOS medical!!

Hi Fedup
I think you are confusing a couple of things. not difficult at the moment, consdiering the number of changes being made by the Government
The proposed changes to ESA, as far as I am aware they have not been passed through the House of Commons, althought there is little doubt that they will, will limit the time that Contribution Based ESA will be paid to claimants in the WRAG, but not the Support Group, to one year, after this time and subject to a means test, claimants can continue to receive Income Related ESA.
I know it will be of no value to those affected, but your right to ESA would not be removed, just the actual payment.
Hope this explains it.
