They're supposed to allow claimants to take someone in with them. I can't see that his doctor would even be obliged to say who or what she was, merely that she was there to support him.

I haven't heard of anyone taking their doctor with them to an Atos medical before. Maybe someone else has?

Arranging a home medical requires determination and support from your Doctor.

Your son is entitled to have someone with them during the interview component of the medical, and if they assist the examination part as well.

The conpanion can be a friend, relative or carer, so I can't see any reason why it should not be a doctor.

It is usual, especially where the claimant is suffering with mental health issues, for the ATOS HCP to expect the conpamion to assist in answering the questions.

I think I should warn you that there have been occassions in the past, where the ATOS HCP has felt uncomfortable with the circumstances of a home medical, and has terminated the examination. Finding your sons Doctor there may be one of those occassions.

Thats brilliant that your doctor clearly cares about you and your son. I wish that they were all as compassionate.

In Cuba if your very sick and your GP feels you need help from the doctors at the hospital, he goes with you, so he knows best how to manage any treatment the hospital think you need .... that said they cut sick benefits 2 years ago I think :)
