atos contacted me 2day by phone ,is this normal?also i had a terrible episode with these people 2yrs ago.i was thinking of sending them and dwp a request for an affadavit reading that they will be culpable for any misfortune to myself,is this viable cheers.

Hi,
Sadly it is becoming more the case that ATOS do ring, particularly if trying to arrange a medical at short notice. However you can insist on being given 7 days notice for a medical in connection with a DWP benefit.

I'd be surprised if the DWP agreed to this.
Was the phone call to invite you to a medical? It is normal for them to do this by phone.
Take a deep breath, read the advice under "help for claimants" and give it your best shot.
Don't forget that if you don't pass the medical, you can appeal using the guides on here to help you.
Meanwhile, if you are struggling with this, see the thread "If you are distressed" and get some help.
