Hello
I've just got the letter from my doc for my appeal. He also enclosed another letter saying it is far better to attend as a very dim view is taken if you ask for the appeal to be done on paperwork alone and he really thinks it's in my best interest to attend. This means I'll have to have someone to accompany me which hubby has said he'll take a day off for and I now need to get a rep too.
Now in here it says that the decision will be looked at first before it goes any further so is there a likelihood a decision could be made before going to appeal?
Also, I have sight problems too, is there any way I can sort representation out without having to visit a CAB office or go to see a Welfare Rights Officer?
Any help much appreciated, as always.

i contact mt welfare rights oficer by email and phone.
if there's any paperwork, we email it to each other. if it needs signed, i print it, sign then rescan and email it back
21st century way of doing things. so you don't need to leave the house. at times, thats better for me.
when i have my IB appeal in december, my case worker will be with me.

Hi
Thanks for that reply, it's most helpful.
How can I find out who my Welfare Rights Officer is?
Thanks

Hi
Anybody around who can answer this?
"Now in here it says that the decision will be looked at first before it goes any further so is there a likelihood a decision could be made before going to appeal?"
Thank you

Hi,
It sounds like you don't have a WRO. You need to approach a local advice or law centre and ask for advice. They don't come to you unless you ask.
See
Community Legal Advice for advice about WRO's in your local area.
Good luck.

Hi Pusscat
The decision will be looked at again by the DWP before appeal, but generally it is unlikely to be changed.
I can't recall the statistics but more ESA decisions are changed before appeal that IB decisions, but the percentage is still small.
If you have provided additional evidence to the DWP then hopefully this will be considered and may change the outcome, but you have to prepare for an appeal.
Good luck
Derek
