ESA appeal and turned down for DLA was created by bubs
hi all, this is my first time so bear with me.
I have Lupus,Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis in my neck, back and knees, also chronic fatigue and inflammation and severe head and neck pains.
Have been put into the WRAG group for ESA and they have said i can return to work in 6months. I am appealing this, as i think i should be in the support group. i have just heard today that DLA have turned me down completly and this after i followed the guide on this site.My question is, do i appeal this as well and what else can i use to get a better outcome. Many Thanks x

Hi
Welcome to the site!!! Its worth its weight in gold. My advice is to read all the relevant information on this site and appeal, if you are doing it for ESA do it for both you have nothing to lose and an awful lot to gain. I was turned down 3 times and appealed te 3rd time, went to tribual and won. If you can face opt for an oral hearing as the tribunal will see for themselves how your disability is affecting you.
If you can get written reports from your consultants and gp as they can go a long way to support your application. Dont forget you nly have a month in which to appeal, so go for it!!!
Good luck
Mm a smile costs nothing

thanks millymoo. I did send letters to DLA from my GP and Psychotherapist. They never wrote to either of them or to the consultants i put in my claim form. said they took evidence from my claim form, extra information i gave them and from my ESA madical.I called try to get written report from my consultant, but did put in letters from hosp stating my illness' and pain clinic and therapy's. Am getting so fed up with it all. Also have ask for oral appeal with ESA, many thanks again mollymoo

Hi there,
I suffer with fibromyalgia/ME and CFS. It took me 18 months and 3 appeals to get DLA ( higher rate mobility and lower rate for care).
I supplied lots of evidence and in the end asked them "just how much more evidence do you need). Had been to rheumatologist(s), pain management clinic, counsellor, physciatrist( who noted that I was frustated because I was being told it was all in my head !!), osteopath, physiotherapist, Gp's, hypnotherapist, private GP.
My message is DO NOT GIVE UP..I do honestly think that they try to wear you down and want you to give up.
I worked for over 25 years and was so angry that i had to fight for money support that it made me more determined to carry on.
I have also been put in working group for ESA, but did not agree with medical. Awaiting appeal.
Please use this site, it is so good.
DO NOT GIVE UP and GOOD LUCK xx
