HI everyone just to let you know after the nightmare of last year this year has been less stressful and dealt with properly.

I have had my IB renewed and my DLA renewed for another two years. Thank you to the site as again I followed the guidelines again and sent in a full DLA claim form with all my details and attached this to the 4 page renewal document so they had loads of info.

I have to say I am sum what amazed and it may be a record but it only took nine days from posting my DLA renewal to receiving a reply confirming I had received DLA again. yes only 9 days !!!!!!

I would like to advise that the DLA department are now accessing the IB and ESA medicals for information as on my reply it said they had taken into consideration my IB medical results.

I thought that these where completely different and did not link to each other ??? I dont want to worry people but I think you need to be aware that the DLA department will take your IB or ESA medical into consideration and if you fail one you stand to lose the other.

Its funny that when I applied last time and had to go to appeal I was told by the DWP and Atos that each medical was different and not relevant to other benefits I.e they said my IIB medical was not relevant to my IB or DLA.

I have asked if this is something new and they have advised that it is current practice to check other benefit medicals into consideration.

Thanks again for the help and advice XX

Just beware that they are using the information taken from these medicals

So in a way are the DWP saying if your fit for work, not entitled to ESA, you are possibly fit enough to not qualify for DLA as from what I remember reading and have been told by the DWP employees your ability to work doesn't affect your right to DLA but if people are losing their DLA because of what may be a best selling work of fiction by some HCP then they are obviously incorrect.

From what I have seen of the ESA form it resembles the DLA form closely, what has your ability to walk got to do with whether you can work? put basically a person who is confined to a wheelchair 24/7 can get enough points to claim ESA even if they are put in the work related group, maybe the support group if lucky, every time and their overall fitness may be such that they are fitter than someone who walks into the ATOS medical, yet the person who walks in and has very poor memory cannot remember most of their medical conditions has forgotten to take their list of medication or supporting evidence from their GP or specialist, gives contradicting answers because of their condition may not be awarded ESA and if they are also in receipt of DLA this may be removed as well.
Maybe the above will show how badly the ESA application has been thought out and the so called medical is no more than a memory test of how well you remember what has been put on the two forms that you filled out to apply for ESA.
I could go on and on about this but will stop there as I think most people get the idea, one minute the DWP are saying work does not affect your DLA but on the other fail an ESA medical and it possibly will affect your DLA
