Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

David Cameron did similar today he was at a Q&A session in Hove (wish i had know has its fairly near i would have gone ) anyway a guy asked him about the lack of jobs advertised in the local paper and how are people over 50 going to get work after being on IB. His answer was that jobs are advertised online! and that there are 3 types of people on IB, one group those who are severely disabled, one group and he mentioned mental health in this group which will get all the help going to get back into work and a group that shouldn't be on IB at all, he fudged the issue and the real question at which point i had to turn TV over to save a raising of blood pressure

"If anyone is unhappy with a benefit decision they should get in touch with Jobcentre Plus, and we will look at it again."

The wages for many unskilled jobs are paying less than benefits, this could be resolved by paying higher wages but the business community will not stand for it, they also grumble about reduced profits caused by the National Minimum Wage.
If business had its way there would be full employment but on poverty, survival wages, how can any government hope to solve this problem? No chance whatsoever i suspect...
Chris.

What a load of cobblers. Does DC really believe the spin that he is told to say. I can think of a few vacancies that may/should be available....some new spin docs.
In my previous life, DC made a cracking statement based on complete and utter myth, I see nothing much has altered....sigh.

Hi carole, You mention what was said by david cameron and the 3 groups he selected. The way things are going there are going to be alot more people claiming under mental health problems, You have people currently on IB/ESA, DLA who are getting worried sick about losing those benefits(because they changed the qualifying criteria). It has been medically proven that a bit of stress is good for you, but when you are under constant stress it can lead to heart problems mental health problems etc, etc. People are loosing teir jobs on a daily basis and they will be coming up against the benefit system, Some may have actually be on DLA and working part time or full time to supplement their income. (you can work on DLA) although the way things are at present alot of people on benefits are petrified of doing anything for fear of being reported for alleged fraud. Best Wishes
