Did anyone else see this meaty slice of negative reinforcement on yesterday's BBC six o'clock news? If not, it's on YouTube under 'Dancing Benefit Cheat'.
The trouble with stuff like this is it can give people the impression that DLA claimants receive shedloads of money they don't 'deserve' and spend their spare time secretly tripping the light fantastic!
I wish!

I saw it, made me depressed. It lifted my spirits when I saw people fighting the infamous web-site recently.
We've got enough resources of humour to counter this propaganda, but how???

You mean you don't dance? I myself am often to be found dancing the Kalinka with my fellow Russian folk music buddies.
It is awful publicity for us all but there will always be bad apples in the barrel unfortunately.
I remember a case back in the 90s of an IB claiming bloke who won a hammer throwing competition at a local Highland Games! His downfall was posing for the local newspaper and a "concerned" citizen grassing him up!
Brass neck but obviously little in the way of brains!

Where would a person stand if they had written on their dla claim form that are bad for 5 or 6 days per week?
In the case mentioned in this post, would it not allow a person with the likes of severe depression etc the chance of going out and dancing on a good night. Would or could that persons condition to some degree. If one pushes him or herself, sometimes depending on the illness, that person could then possibly do a little more the next time they tried. Is this not what self help is all about!
I certainly don't think it deserved a slot on the BBC National news. It shows the propaganda plot going on behind the scenes.

I totally agree. The BBC aren't so quick to show the harsh treatment we experience.

On the 6 pm BBC News a few nights ago there was footage of David Cameron being asked a question about people with mental health. However, there was no footage of his response to the question (!!!), the report just went on to another part of the Q&A.
As one of the many thousands left in limbo prior to the cull of IB migration does it not seem weird that significant questions are still not being answered in a transparent fashion?
