Hi. I am totally confused about the rules for ESA. A person over qualifying age for Pension Credit is NOT required to attend the WFIs, so if that is the case, then what would be the point of that person being on the benefit in the first place? Surely it would be better just to leave them on IB until they retire at 65, that way it would save the government the money that they would be paying ATOS to send that person for the medical etc, just seems silly to me to put a person on a benefit that they don't have to participate in Brian
Could be for political spin -- ie. it gives the (whichever) government a chance to announce they've reduced / done away with IB. ... which from their point of view makes it public funds well spent.
