ESA AWARDED was created by C&L
I went to the ATOS medical 3 weeks ago.

I have just been awarded ESA and have been put in the work related activity group.

I see a therapist for severe depression, anxiety and panic attacks.

My question is: When is it likely that I will have to have another ATOS medical? Is there anyway of finding out?

Is there a review date given on your award letter?

No nothing like that. It's just a letter from the JCP giving me a breakdown of my entitlement. No mention of a review date.

It may be the case that unlike IB, the work capability assessment for ESA does not specify a review date in the decision letter? Perhaps any other members who have been subject to the WCA, can confirm whether or not this is the case?

In the absence of the review date, you could always ask the Jobcentreplus/BD office for your WCA report (usually recorded on form ESA85) compiled by the disability analyst, which will suggest a date when your case should next come up for review again.

That's interesting, Crazydiamond, because I've never had an review date for my next IB assessment. It came through last time in the winter of 2006 (having sent off the IB50 in August of that year), that I had an 'indefinite claim' and had already passed the qualifiying standard for IB without having to take the PCA by reason of the nature and complexity of the variety of conditions I have. Apparently, I should have been classed as 'exempt', although they'd been sending me form for my care manager to fill in since 1992, sometimes only 18 months apart.
